QUE PASA 12/15/2021 (ENGLISH)

Dear Parents,

We’ve made it to our last week of school in 2021! I am grateful for our school community and all that we have accomplished as we continue to feel the effects of the pandemic.  We continue to reflect during this Advent season and pray for strength as the year comes to a conclusion, and as we enter a new year with hope, remembering that “Jesus is the reason for the season!”

I share this prayer (written by Christine Sine) with you all:

The coming of our Lord is near,

And we wait in joyful expectation.

Draw close, Lord Jesus Christ,

Shed your light on all that is filled with darkness.

The coming of our Lord is near,

And we wait with hope filled hearts.

Draw close, God’s beloved son,

Teach us the wonder of your all-embracing love.  AMEN.

During this Advent and Christmas, I keep the entire St. Peter’s School family in my prayers--I am grateful to be a part of this loving community. I pray that everyone has a safe and restful winter break.  Have a joyous Christmas and a happy new year!  Best wishes for 2022!

-- Mrs. Sandra Jimenez

SCHOOL SCHEDULE

This Friday we will be following a Minimum Day schedule.  Students enrolled in BVCC may attend the after-school program.  All other students should be picked up promptly at their dismissal time.

The winter break will be through Monday, January 3.  Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 4 with a regular schedule.

SF  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH COVID-19 TESTING RECOMMENDATIONS AFTER VACATION

During this holiday break, it is important to remember that anytime different households gather and mix indoors or if there is any travel, people are at higher risk for exposure to, and infection with, COVID-19.  As an added layer of safety for our school community, proactive testing before returning can prevent classroom exposures, outbreaks and unnecessary missed days from school for students.

Therefore, SFDPH recommends that all students and staff, regardless of vaccination status, get tested for COVID-19 1-2 days prior to return to school, even if they are asymptomatic.  The test can be done with a home test, or a PCR or rapid antigen from a clinic or testing site.

SFDPH also recommends testing 3-5 days after returning from travel as per CDC/CDPH guidelines, so depending on when your family or staff returns from travel, testing twice might be a good idea.  For example, if your family or staff returns from travel on the Sunday before school starts, it would be a good idea to test once on that Sunday as well as test once again sometime during the following Wednesday through Friday.

If your student or staff tests positive, please notify your school immediately and follow SFDPH isolation and quarantine guidelines.

CHRISTMAS PRAYER SERVICE

On Friday, December 17, we will have a Christmas prayer service for students.  On this day, students should be in their regular uniform since we will be attending church.  No gray sweats or free dress passes on this day.

QUE PASA 12/8/2021 (ENGLISH)

Dear Parents,

This week, we celebrate two feasts of Mary: the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.  It’s very appropriate that we celebrate Mary during the season of Advent as we prepare for the coming of Jesus, because without Mary, and without her faith, strength, and love, we wouldn’t have Jesus.  And after all, Jesus is the reason for the season!

Pope Francis wrote an Advent reflection a few years ago that reminds us of how Mary is a role model for us today.  Mary is our sign of FAITH and HOPE, especially during these challenging pandemic  times.  As Pope Francis describes, Mary is a loving mother who inspires us all to put God first in our lives.  Here’s a part of what Pope Francis wrote:

“We bet on hope, on the hope of peace, and it will be possible! The journey is never finished. Just as in each of our own lives, there is always a need to restart and to rise again.Mary is a model of this spiritual attitude, to this way of being and of journeying in life.Although she was just a simple girl, she carried in her heart the hope of God.  In her womb, the hope of God took flesh, became man, and made history: Jesus Christ.  Let us be guided by her, she who is mother, she is a ‘mama’ and knows how to lead us. Let us be guided by her in this time of waiting.”

So let’s remember Mary, during Advent and every day, and how she is a role model for us to have courage, to put God first in our lives, and to have open hearts and open minds.  And when we do that, GREAT things can happen!

-- Mrs. Sandra Jimenez

HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE

During this season of Advent, we remember God’s loving Mercy and Grace through times of both bounty and scarcity. For those of us who are able to, we want to continue with our tradition of service with our annual food drive for the SF/Marin Food Bank. Each year students, parents, and staff show astounding generosity by donating thousands of pounds of food to help the most vulnerable among us in the Bay Area.

Due to continued COVID-19 restrictions, the SF/Marin Food Bank has halted the collection of food donations. Instead, St. Peter’s School will host a virtual food drive, as we did last year.

We have a goal to raise $1,000 and each homeroom class will make a goal to donate a specific amount. Donations can be made online (please write your child’s name and grade in the comments)or with cash through your child’s homeroom teacher.

To make a donation, please visit our school’s food drive page here: https://us-p2p.e-activist.com/1803/general/115996/st.-peter

For every dollar we give, SF/Marin Food bank is able to provide two meals for our neighbors in need. Please help us put Faith intoAction and show that St. Peter’s School  gives with a spirit of Open Hearts and Open Minds!

Dear Parents,

December is here--the last month of 2021!  Even though we’re near the end of the year, we find ourselves just at the beginning of a Church season—ADVENT.  Advent is a time of preparation for Jesus’ birth.

The teachers and I will be teaching the students about Advent, and how our preparations could include special acts—such as saying extra prayers, reading the bible, giving to the school’s weekly Missions collection, or doing extra good deeds—because doing those special acts will make more room in our hearts for Jesus.  Some classes are following an Advent calendar or constructing Advent wreaths, yet some classes might also be planning special projects to help those in need.  Students that have received the sacrament of Reconciliation will also have the opportunity to receive Reconciliation with their class this month. Whatever your child and your family do during Advent, remember that Jesus is the reason for the season.  The children have heard this at school, but continue this lesson at home.  Let’s all be examples of open hearts and open minds, and know that we wouldn’t be celebrating if it wasn’t for our savior, Jesus Christ.

Let us offer this prayer  as we begin this season of Advent:

Jesus,

You are light even in the darkest places.  Help us to trust in you when we are lost or lonely.  Shine hope and love into our hearts.

AMEN.

-- Mrs. Sandra Jimenez

Dear Parents,

As we celebrate Thanksgiving this week, I want to say Thank You for being part of the St. Peter’s School family!  I am proud to be part of our community as we continue to teach our children to live out and celebrate our core values to grow, accomplish, love, serve, and unite.

While we are thankful for all our blessings—like our families, our friends, and our homes, to name a few—let us also remember to pray for those who are in need and who are facing particularly difficult challenges during this holiday time.  Together, let us offer this prayer (written by “Anonymous”):

 O Heavenly Father:

We thank You for food and remember the hungry.

We thank You for health and remember the sick.

We thank You for friends and remember the friendless.

We thank You for freedom and remember the enslaved.

May these remembrances stir us to service,

That Your gifts to us may be used for others.  AMEN.

Also—this Sunday marks the beginning of the ADVENT season. As this liturgical season approaches, begin thinking of ways that you and your child can prepare your hearts for the coming of Jesus at Christmas time!

Have a blessed, happy, and SAFE Thanksgiving!

 --Mrs. Sandra Jimenez

Dear Parents,

This Friday marks the end of our first Trimester, and throughout these challenging times and the various adjustments we’ve had to make at school, the students have grown in many ways!  The teachers and I value our partnership with you, so that we can work together to help all students grow and meet their goals.  To help refresh your memory as we enter into the second trimester, and because these are an important part of our school culture, I am re-sharing the St. Peter’s Schoolwide Learning Expectations, also known as “SLEs.”  These expectations can extend into the home to help students live out our CORE VALUES to Grow, Accomplish, Love, Serve, and Unite!

A St. Peter’s student has the KEYS to…

GROW by...

- setting and evaluating individual goals to grow spiritually, socially, emotionally, academically, and physically.

- embracing new experiences with an open heart and open mind.

- facing challenges with optimism and faith in God.

ACCOMPLISH by...

- listening and communicating effectively in social and academic environments.

- demonstrating critical thinking skills and knowledge in all subject areas.

- using technology effectively and responsibly.

LOVE by…

- making choices based on the teachings of Jesus Christ.

- nurturing a spiritual life through prayer, retreats, masses, and the sacraments.

- demonstrating an appreciation for what others have done for us.

SERVE by…

- living out the corporal and spiritual Works of Mercy.

- sharing time, gifts, and joy with the school community.

- participating in outreach to strengthen ties with those outside of our school community.

UNITE by…

- engaging in weekly school Mass and morning prayer assemblies.

- supporting and encouraging others in order to strengthen school community.

- welcoming people of all backgrounds as St. Peter’s community members.

Dear Parents,

Tomorrow, we celebrate Veterans’ Day!  Let us remember our veterans who have given their lives and their lifetimes to serving our country at home and abroad, so that people may enjoy their freedom.  Here at school, we recognize our very own Mr. Frank Gonzalez, an army veteran, and all of your loved ones who are veterans as well.  Although our country and the world have a long way to go so that all are treated with equal respect and freedoms, we wouldn’t be where we are today without the struggle and commitment of our veterans.  God bless our veterans and their families!

Let us offer this prayer in thanksgiving to our Veterans and our government leaders:

Lord God, Almighty Father, creator of mankind and author of peace,as we are ever mindful of the cost paid for the liberty we possess,we ask you to bless our government officials and the members of our armed forces.  Give them courage, hope and strength.  May they ever experience your firm support, gentle love and compassionate healing.  Be their power and protector, leading them from darkness to light.  To you be all glory, honor and praise, now and forever.  Amen.

Dear Parents,

This week, we celebrated special days in the Church: All Saints’ Day, All Souls’ Day and Dia de los Muertos. On the Feast of All Saints, a holy day of obligation, we honor those who have lived lives faithful to God. On the Feast of All Souls, we remember and pray for our loved ones who have passed away, and honor them through prayer, or even by making special altars in their memory.

As we honor the Saints, let us remember how they lived out the Beatitudes—Jesus’ teachings on how to live as a Christian and to find true happiness.  The Beatitudes can help us to reflect on how to be role models for our children.  We can lead our children by example and live out our faith, showing kindness, love, and respect!

      The Beatitudes  (Matthew 5:3-10)

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Dear Parents,

As we conclude this month of the Rosary, we can reflect on the different events in Mary’s and Jesus’ lives. These reflections, connections, and prayers can fill us with joy and thanksgiving, and also give us strength during hard times.

While October comes to a close and we enter into a new month, let us offer this prayer together (adapted from a prayer on gatherandgrow.com) as we continue learning and living out our core values to Grow, Accomplish, Love, Serve, and Unite!

 Dear God,

Thank you for the gift of education in every form.  As we prepare for our learning, may confidence be our foundation, may grace be our guide, and may hope be our compass toward a brighter future. We pray that we have eyes to see the needs of those around us and a heart to love well.  May we face each day with positivity knowing that no matter what comes our way, we do not have to face it alone.

We are confident that through You, our loving Father, your care for us will never change.  May we show the same love and care for one another in all we say and do at school, at home, and in our community.  AMEN.

Dear Parents,

Our Parent-Teacher Zoom Conferences begin today!  Teachers will be sharing each student’s Progress Report for Trimester 1 and   parents can learn about their children’s progress and ask teachers questions.  Conferences are an important part of the school-home partnership, which helps to support students’ academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth and learning.

During this time of Parent-Teacher Conferences, let us offer this prayer together:

Dear God,

Thank you for the gift of our children. Help us to set boundaries for them, and yet encourage them to explore. Give us the strength and courage to treat each day as a fresh start. May our children come to know you, the one true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.  May your Holy Spirit help them to grow in faith, hope, and love, so they may know peace, truth, and goodness.  May their ears hear your voice.  May their eyes see your presence in all things.  May their lips proclaim your word.  May their hearts be your dwelling place.  May their hands do works of charity.  May their feet walk in the way of Jesus Christ, your Son and our Lord. AMEN. [From www.loyolapress.com]

We appreciate your partnership, parents!

Dear Parents,

This past Monday was our observance of Indigenous People’s Day—a holiday that celebrates Native Americans and commemorates their histories and cultures.  It is a reminder to continue to work towards social justice so that people of all cultures are treated with kindness, dignity, and compassion.  Here at school, as described in our Schoolwide Learning Expectations (SLEs), we strive towards social justice with our core values—

to GROW by embracing new experiences with an open heart and open mind;

to ACCOMPLISH by thinking critically;

to LOVE by making choices based on the teachings of Jesus Christ;

to SERVE by living out the corporal and spiritual Works of Mercy;

to UNITE by welcoming people of all backgrounds as St. Peter’s community members.

In honor of Indigenous People’s Day, here is an excerpt of a prayer from the United Church:

O God, for the witness of strength, caring, and love of Indigenous peoples, and for the struggle for what is just and right, open our hearts this day. Encourage us to listen more, speak less, participate in the movements for change that will bring us together in good and respectful ways. Encourage us to make friends, get to know someone’s story, and share our stories too, without fear, for in Christ we know we are all kin, relatives, with you and with each other and with all living and non-living things.

--Mrs. Sandra Jimenez

COVID-19 NOTIFICATION

Yesterday afternoon (October 12), a COVID-19 notification was sent home via SchoolSpeak e-mail.

As stated in that notification, an individual at St. Peter’s School has tested positive for COVID-19.  Because the infectious dates occurred over the long weekend and the individual is currently in quarantine, there has been no exposure at school, and therefore there are no close contacts at school.   (A close contact is someone who was within 6 feet of a person infected with COVID-19 for a total of 15 minutes or more in a 24 hour period, even if both people were wearing masks.)

Your child can continue their usual activities, including going to school, childcare or any other programs. They do not need to quarantine or be tested unless they develop COVID-19 symptoms.

Please see the symptoms listed below, and keep your child at home if he or she is not feeling well.  Contact the school, and send in proper notification (doctor’s note and/or Negative COVID-19 test results) as directed by SFDPH before returning to school.  Thank you for your cooperation in helping to keep our school community safe.

Dear Parents,

Tomorrow—October 7th—commemorates the Memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary, and (as we pray the Hail Mary as a school each morning) the month of October is traditionally the month of the Rosary.

Here is a thoughtful reflection from Living the Rosary by Father John Phalen:

The Rosary starts with Mary’s human experience, and it encourages us to learn from our own.  The Rosary is:

  • Remembering Christ with Mary

  • Learning Christ with Mary

  • Being conformed to Christ with Mary

  • Praying to Christ with Mary

  • Proclaiming Christ with Mary

By looking to Mary, the courageous mother of our Savior, we can open our hearts and minds to God’s presence in our lives, and be models for our own children to live with love, patience, faith, and perseverance, even through the challenging times in our lives.

When I pass by our grotto at school each day, I’m reminded of how much St. Peter’s students honor Mary, and I think about how they make the Sign of the Cross or stop to say a prayer at the grotto.  It’s definitely a sacred place for our entire school family.  Plus, each month, one class has the task of taking care of the grotto, by bringing flowers and even prayer cards to Mary!

Throughout October, let us look to Mary as a role model of faith and courage, especially during this month of the Rosary!

Dear Parents,

As we wrap up the first month of school, I am reminded of our KEY “Knowledge feeds GROWTH.”  This was a time when we adjusted to different environments (such as different classrooms or being back in the school building full-time), got to know teachers and classmates, and learned how to collaborate with others.  Think about how your child has grown so far (academically, socially, and spiritually) since the first day of school.  The knowledge they have gained will help to feed their mind and spirit, but they should not stop there.  We’ve only just begun!  Together, let us guide them to use that knowledge to take action to better themselves, to positively guide others, and to improve their communities.   And when they take action, they can understand that “Every ACCOMPLISHMENT needs courage”—another one of our KEYS! Together, let’s keep our growth mindset going strong as this first month of school draws to a close.

QUE PASA 9/22/2021 (ENGLISH)

Dear Parents,

This Friday, we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Mercy, or as we lovingly call it, Mercy Day!  During our school Mass yesterday, we remembered our Sisters of Mercy, who founded our beloved St. Peter’s School and continue to care for and support our students, teachers, and families to this day.

We are grateful for Catherine McAuley, foundress of the Sisters of Mercy; and for Mother Baptist Russell, who traveled from Ireland and established schools and hospitals in America.  We are grateful for the loving contributions of our Sisters of Mercy today—including Sister Marian Rose, Sister Lucy, Sister Pauline, Sister Paulina, and Sister Toni Lynn—all who help to guide us here at St. Peter’s School.  The sisters of Mercy are living examples to us for living out the mission of Mercy.

And what is mercy?  MERCY means to show love and compassion towards others; to forgive others and to be grateful to be forgiven by others; to show charity and generosity, especially to those in need; to have the courage to stand up for what’s right, especially for others who are afraid to stand up for themselves; to have faith in God.  MERCY means having an open heart and open mind.

Let’s remember to be thankful for all the good works of the Sisters of Mercy, keep them in our prayers, and try our best to live out the mission of Mercy ourselves, not only at St. Peter’s School, but everywhere!

--Mrs. Sandra Jimenez

Dear Parents,

As we begin to prepare for The Feast of Our Lady of Mercy coming up next week, we offer this prayer of Catherine McAuley, who founded the Sisters of Mercy:

My God, I am yours for time and eternity.
Teach me to cast myself entirely
into the arms of your loving Providence
with a lively, unlimited confidence in your compassionate, tender pity. Grant, O most merciful Redeemer, that whatever you ordain or permit may be acceptable to me.
Take from my heart all painful anxiety;
let nothing sadden me but sin,
nothing delight me but the hope of coming to the possession of You my God and my all, in your everlasting kingdom. Amen.

May we continue to look towards the Sisters of Mercy as examples of love, peace, and social justice, especially as we still witness signs of violence and inhumane treatment of others throughout the world.  Let us always remember that our school, founded by the Sisters of Mercy, is a place where we can model how to live with active kindness and compassion with open hearts and open minds!

QUE PASA 9/8/2021 (ENGLISH)

Dear Parents,

This week marks the anniversary of the September 11 attacks, when thousands of people were killed or injured as a result of hate and ignorance.  Many felt fear and anxiety.  Yet in response, people showed compassion, unity, courage, and service as they helped those in need.

Even though 9/11 happened 20 years ago, it brings to mind current political situations around the world (some of which are causing violence and mistrust), and how people may feel fear and anxiety due to issues related to race, the economy, and COVID-19.  This makes our work at St. Peter’s even more meaningful and important, as we guide children to act in unity with love and in faith.  Our KEYS—“You are Love” and “Service unites”—are  reminders that we can be positive, active examples to listen to other perspectives, act with kindness, and work towards justice. We want St. Peter’s School to be a safe place for students to grow and learn, where they can accomplish their goals with open hearts and open minds.  Let us continue our partnership as we reach for this goal, and continue our prayers for peace throughout our communities.

--Mrs. Sandra Jimenez

STAR ASSSESSMENTS

This week and next is Window #1 for STAR Testing.  Students in Kindergarten and 1st grade take a test in Early Literacy, while students in grades 2-8 take tests in Reading and Math.

STAR assessments is one data point that helps teachers know how they can best help students. It will not be part of the students’ grade, yet it will help teachers determine areas where students may need extra help or where students need to be further challenged.  Results of STAR assessments will be discussed at the first round of Parent-Teacher conferences in October.

QUE PASA 9/1/2021 (ENGLISH)

Dear Parents,

Happy September!  I feel that our school year is off to a strong start, thanks to all the members of our school family—teachers, staff, students, parents, and caregivers.  As a community, we are living our core values to Grow, Accomplish, Love, Serve, and Unite, and our KEYS (Knowledge feeds GROWTH; Every ACCOMPLISHMENT needs courage;  You are LOVE; and Service Unites) are daily reminders at school to help us live out our core values.

We also have our Student Learning Expectations-- “SLEs”—which further guide our students to live the Core Values.  The teachers and I will be regularly referencing our SLEs, which are listed below, posted throughout the school, and available on our school website, www.stpeterssf.org

Plus--remember that faculty and staff continue to award virtual KEYS on Class Dojo whenever they witness a child living out the core values.  Whenever your child receives a virtual KEY, you’ll receive a Class Dojo notification, and your child can trade in those KEYS for a prize!

--Mrs. Sandra Jimenez

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to school! We had another unusual school year last year, but I hope that you and your loved ones were able to rest and spend quality time with each other over the summer, returning to school rejuvenated to learn and grow together!

For this new school year, let us pray:

God of our past, our present and our future,
God of our dreams, our designs and our decisions,
Be love in us as we journey through this new school year.

Be our inner vision, that we may see life through your eyes,
Be our inner hearing, that we may listen well for your call,
Be our inner judgment, so we may discern clearly that which gives life, promotes growth, and nurtures love.                                         As we move into this school year, fill us with hope and abiding trust that you dwell in us,
So that, in both joy and sorrow, we radiate hope. AMEN.

Dear Parents,

Together, we made it to the last few days of school!  This school year was unusual as it presented us with extra challenges due to COVID-19, yet I am proud and grateful that we persevered and continued to learn and grow together.

Your child progressed and developed socially, academically, and spiritually this year at St. Peter’s. Continue to support their growth over the summer. Seek out fun, new, and enriching experiences as a family.  Read books and magazines for fun.  Enjoy the outdoors safely. Pray together.  I promise to do the same with my own family!

I share with you this prayer to end this school year:

God of wisdom,
We thank you for all the gifts you have given us throughout this school year. We praise you for blessing us with knowledge, so that we may use this knowledge to make our world a better place—to be positive examples of love and service.

As we come to the end of this school year, we thank you for the good things you have done in us, and we praise you for all who have shared in the work of this school. We ask you to bless them in your love and give them refreshment and peace.

We pray that everyone has a safe summer, and for us to return to school even more ready to learn and grow.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns forever and ever. AMEN.

And don’t forget…

Grow, Accomplish, Love, Serve, Unite!

St. Peter’s has the KEYS to OPEN HEARTS, OPEN MINDS!

Have a great summer!

See you for the new school year on August 23!

--Mrs. Sandra Jimenez

THANK YOU!

Two of our teachers will be moving on from St. Peter’s School at the end of this school year.  We thank Mrs. Meenan (our 1st grade teacher) and Ms. Ayala (our long-term substitute in 1st grade while Mrs. Meenan was on maternity leave) for their dedication and love for the 1st grade students.  We are grateful for their service and wish them the best on their future endeavors!

Dear Parents,

The 8th graders are taking their final steps towards GRADUATION and CONFIRMATION!  We proudly share in their accomplishments as we—their families and teachers—have helped them to lay the foundation for their future.  We are especially proud of them as this school year presented many challenges and obstacles, yet they moved forward with open hearts and open minds.  Now, they are ready to take on their next steps in high school and receive the Holy Spirit this weekend!

Let us offer this prayer for our soon-to-be graduates:

Loving God, we thank you for our graduates. You have blessed them during their years at St. Peter’s School with wisdom, friendships, and skills. Continue to challenge them to make this world a better place. Help them to look forward to their next steps in high school. Give them faith and a sense of purpose in their next steps. Show them how to serve others in effective ways.  May they be aware in everything they do that they find fulfillment in doing your will, that you will be with them always, and that you will bring to completion the good work you have begun in them.  AMEN.

Last week, the 2021-2022 school calendar was sent home and shared on Class Dojo, along with a notice was sent home informing families that for the 2021-2022 school year, it is the plan of St. Peter’s School that all students--absent a legitimate, documented need for isolation--will return to full-time, five days per week, in-person instruction, commencing in August 2021.  We realize that the pandemic has not come to an end, and we will continue to follow infection mitigation protocols, such as staggered morning intake and afternoon dismissal, separation of cohorts, and proper daily mask-wearing.  We depend on a partnership between home and school in order for infection mitigation protocols to be followed consistently.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school office as soon as possible.  Your continued support is appreciated as we move forward into the next school year.

ATTENDANCE
Please notify your child’s teacher or phone the school office about any school-day absences.  If your child is not feeling well or is exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms (as listed in the COVID-19 REMINDERS section below), please do not send him/her to school, and provide a doctor’s clearance note as needed.  In-Person students who are not present at school (daily for grades K-5; rotating weeks for grades 6-8) will be marked as absent when they are not present in the school building.

SCHOOL UNIFORM

Though we are approaching the end of the school year, we want to continue to UNITE and follow the uniform policy.

- Students in school are to wear the white polo shirt with the uniform sweatshirt, and either the uniform skirt or Navy khakis (not stretch pants or dark jeans).

- Girls may wear solid black or white tights under their skirts.

- Uniform shoes are SOLID black or white tennis shoes/rubber-soled shoes.

- The Gray Aztecs sweats (hoodie, t-shirt, and sweatpants) may be worn on Fridays.  Plain gray sweats are not uniform sweats, and that is considered free dress attire.

If you have any questions regarding the uniform, please contact the school office.

Dear Parents,

This Monday, we celebrate Memorial Day, a day where we take the time to honor and remember those who died in all of America’s wars.  These men and women sacrificed their lives as they were protecting others and protecting our rights and freedoms.  Let us offer this prayer for the soldiers who have given their lives for our country, and reflect on how we ourselves can peacefully work for justice in our world:
Dear God,
This Memorial Day, we pray for those who courageously laid down their lives for the cause of freedom.  May the examples of their sacrifice inspire in us the selfless love of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
Bless the families of our fallen troops, and fill their homes and their lives with Your strength and peace.
In union with the people of other nations, give us the courage to work for peace and justice, and seek an end to violence and conflict in our communities and around the world.
We ask this through your holy name.  AMEN.

IN-PERSON LEARNING FOR 2021-2022

The 2021-2022 school calendar has been shared on Class Dojo, along with a notice informing families that for the 2021-2022 school year, it is the plan of St.
