QUE PASA 10/20/2021 (ENGLISH)

Dear Parents,

Our Parent-Teacher Zoom Conferences begin today!  Teachers will be sharing each student’s Progress Report for Trimester 1 and   parents can learn about their children’s progress and ask teachers questions.  Conferences are an important part of the school-home partnership, which helps to support students’ academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth and learning.

During this time of Parent-Teacher Conferences, let us offer this prayer together:

Dear God,

Thank you for the gift of our children. Help us to set boundaries for them, and yet encourage them to explore. Give us the strength and courage to treat each day as a fresh start. May our children come to know you, the one true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.  May your Holy Spirit help them to grow in faith, hope, and love, so they may know peace, truth, and goodness.  May their ears hear your voice.  May their eyes see your presence in all things.  May their lips proclaim your word.  May their hearts be your dwelling place.  May their hands do works of charity.  May their feet walk in the way of Jesus Christ, your Son and our Lord. AMEN. [From www.loyolapress.com]

We appreciate your partnership, parents!

MINIMUM DAYS

October 20, 21, and 22 are Minimum Day dismissals for students so that teachers can meet with all parents for the mandatory Parent-Teacher Conferences on Zoom.  If you have any questions about your conference time, please contact your child’s teacher or the school office right away.  Specific Zoom links for each teacher are available on Class Dojo.

Monday, October 25 is another Minimum Day Dismissal, as teachers will be attending a Faculty Meeting.

HALLOWEEN

On Friday, October 29, students are welcome to come to school dressed in their Halloween costume.  Please ensure that your child’s costume is age-appropriate, and keep any weapon-like costume accessories at home.  If your child chooses not to come to school in costume, they should still wear their regular school uniform or Friday school sweats.  And whether in costume or not, we will ALL be wearing our usual face masks!

If your child would like to share a Halloween treat with his/her class, please bring pre-packaged items (such as individually wrapped candy) that are safe and easy to distribute.  Non-edible items, like pencils or stickers, are also acceptable!

Contact the school office or your child’s teacher with any questions.  Thank you!

COVID-19 NOTIFICATION

On October 18, a notification was sent home via SchoolSpeak email regarding a positive COVID-19 case at school.  Close contacts have been notified and the affected class is in quarantine.  As long as your child is not a close contact, your child can continue their usual activities, including going to school, childcare or any other programs. They do not need to quarantine or be tested unless they develop COVID-19 symptoms.
We will continue to follow SFDPH guidelines and our Infection Mitigation Plan (refer to the section below).  Please see the symptoms listed below, and keep your child at home if he or she is not feeling well.  Contact the school, and send in proper notification (doctor’s note and/or Negative COVID-19 test results) as directed by SFDPH before returning to school.  Thank you for your cooperation in helping to keep our school community safe.

INFECTION MITIGATION PLAN

We continue to endure the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.  To prevent the spread of COVID-19 at school, we have developed a School Infection Mitigation Plan, which was given to each parent on the first day of school as part of the Parent-Student Handbook.  The Infection Mitigation Plan is also available on our school website at http://www.stpeterssf.org/pandemic-reopening-plan

Please remember -- If your child is feeling ill or has been exposed to COVID-19, phone the school office and keep your child at home!

🡪 Symptoms to watch out for include:

  • Fever -- 100.4°F / 38°C or higher

  • Cough

  • Severe headache

  • Sore throat

  • Shortness of breath or trouble breathing
