QUE PASA 9/25/2024 (ENGLISH)

Dear Parents,

As we approach the end of the first month of school, I am reminded of our KEY “Knowledge feeds GROWTH.”  September was a time when we adjusted to different environments (such as different classrooms or new schedules), got to know teachers and classmates, and learned how to collaborate with others.  Think about how your child has grown so far (academically, socially, and spiritually) since the first day of school.  The knowledge they have gained will help to feed their mind and spirit, but they should not stop there.  We’ve only just begun!  Together, let us guide them to use that knowledge to take action to better themselves, to positively guide others, and to improve their communities.   And when they take action, they can understand that “Every ACCOMPLISHMENT needs courage”—another one of our KEYS! Together, let’s keep our growth mindset going strong as this first month of school draws to a close.

SPECIAL SURVEY

Last week, a FAMILY INCOME SURVEY was sent home with the oldest child in each family.  These surveys help our school participate in the Title I, Part A Federal Program. This very important program provides extra academic and social-emotional support for our students.  Please complete the survey and return it to your child’s teacher by the September 27 due date.  Thank you for your support and cooperation!

DIMES FROM HEAVEN

We continue through Friday to collect for “Dimes from Heaven.”  This fundraiser helps to raise money for Student Council events, and we’re donating part of the proceeds to The Palestine Children’s Fund.  It’s also a class competition to see which class raises the most money, so your class has a chance to win an ice cream treat!  Student Council doesn’t just take dimes… they take all money, dollars and cents!  Stay tuned to see who the winning classes are!

Throughout the year, we will continue to collect for those in need in our weekly Missions collection to support the MCA (Missionary Childhood Association) as one way to live out the Works of Mercy!

FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT

Our Family Movie Night is THIS FRIDAY, September 27th at 7:00 PM!

The movie this Fall will be: Inside Out 2!

Pick up pre-order and donation forms from the school office.

Limited quantities of tickets will be sold for our family movie night! Order your tickets before they sell out!

As always, thank you for supporting our growing sports program!

CALENDAR REMINDER

As noted on our school calendar, there is NO SCHOOL on Friday, October 4 while all teachers attend an Archdiocesan In–Service.

SCHOOL UNIFORMS

We live our core value to UNITE as students wear their school uniform with pride.  Please remember that the complete daily uniform includes the plain white polo shirt, navy slacks or uniform skirt/jumper, green uniform sweatshirt, black or white socks, and solid black or solid white sneakers (tennis shoes).

On Fridays (unless there is a church service), students may wear the optional gray Aztecs hoodie, Aztecs sweatpants, and Aztecs T-shirt.

** To purchase the gray Aztecs sweats, obtain an order form in the school office.

For more details on the school uniform, refer to the Uniform section of the Parent-Student Handbook that was distributed on the first day of school, which is also available on the school website: http://www.stpeterssf.org/parents-students

Students who are out of uniform will receive a “Uniform Notice” to be signed by a parent or guardian, as a reminder about the uniform policy, and to help us unite as a school community!
