Dear Parents,
This Monday, we celebrate Veterans’ Day! Let us remember our veterans who have given their lives and their lifetimes to serving our country at home and abroad, so that people may enjoy their freedom. Although our country and the world have a long way to go so that all are treated with equal respect and freedoms, we wouldn’t be where we are today without the struggle and commitment of our veterans. God bless our veterans and their families!
As Election Day has passed, let us also pray for our local, state, and national leaders–that they be models of compassion, respect, thoughtfulness, and prudence. We offer this prayer for guidance and in thanksgiving to our Veterans and our government leaders:
Lord God, Almighty Father, creator of mankind and author of peace, as we are ever mindful of the cost paid for the liberty we possess, we ask you to bless our government officials and the members of our armed forces. Give them courage, hope and strength. May they ever experience your firm support, gentle love and compassionate healing. Be their power and protector, leading them from darkness to light. To you be all glory, honor and praise, now and forever. Amen.

CALENDAR REMINDER
As noted on our school calendar, there is no school this Monday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day. School will resume on Tuesday, November 12 with a regular schedule.
THANK YOU!
Thank you to ALL who volunteered and donated towards our Halloween School Celebration last week! Without your assistance, we are not able to have school events such as this. We appreciate your support and partnership!
AZTECS ATHLETICS
Congratulations to all our volleyball and soccer teams this season! Our 3rd/4th boys soccer team has a play-in game to qualify for the playoffs, and our 5th grade boys soccer team is in the playoffs. Our 5th and 6th/7th girls volleyball teams made it to the playoffs as well.
Great job to all our players and BIG THANKS to all our volunteer coaches! Up next—our boys basketball and girls soccer seasons. LET’S GO AZTECS!
STAR ASSESSMENTS
Last week and this week, students have been working on completing STAR assessments in reading and math. These assessments are required by the Archdiocese and offer data on students’ academic growth. Results from these assessments help to inform teachers’ planning in order to help students. Results of the November STAR assessments will be shared with parents when Trimester 1 report cards are sent home after the Thanksgiving break.
If you have any questions regarding your child’s STAR tests, please contact your child’s teacher.

SCHOOL UNIFORMS
We live our core value to UNITE as students wear their school uniform with pride. Please remember that the complete daily uniform includes the plain white polo shirt, navy slacks or uniform skirt/jumper, green uniform sweatshirt, black or white socks, and solid black or solid white sneakers (tennis shoes).
On Fridays (unless there is a church service), students may wear the optional gray Aztecs hoodie, Aztecs sweatpants, and Aztecs T-shirt.
** To purchase the gray Aztecs sweats, obtain an order form in the school office.
For more details on the school uniform, refer to the Uniform section of the Parent-Student Handbook that was distributed on the first day of school, which is also available on the school website: http://www.stpeterssf.org/parents-students
Students who are out of uniform will receive a “Uniform Notice” to be signed by a parent or guardian, as a reminder about the uniform policy, and to help us unite as a school community!
OCTOBER STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
Homeroom teachers identify and describe Students of the Month at the end of each month. We all celebrate these students because they have exemplified living the St. Peter’s KEYS:
