QUE PASA 10/30/2024 (ENGLISH)

Dear Parents,

This week, we celebrate special days in the Church: All Saints’ Day, and All Souls’ Day (Dia de los Muertos). On the Feast of All Saints, a holy day of obligation, we honor those who have lived lives faithful to God. On the Feast of All Souls, we remember and pray for our loved ones who have passed away, and honor them through prayer, or even by making ofrendas in their memory.

As we honor the Saints, let us remember how they lived out the Beatitudes—Jesus’ teachings on how to live as a Christian and to find true happiness.  The Beatitudes can help us to reflect on how to be role models for our children.  We can lead our children by example and live out our faith, showing kindness, love, and respect!

   The Beatitudes  (Matthew 5:3-10)

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,f or they will be called children of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

SCHOOL HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION

Our school Halloween celebration will take place TOMORROW–Thursday, October 31.  We will begin with a costume parade on the schoolyard at 1:00 PM, followed by games and snack sales.  Parents are welcome to join the celebration.

Students are welcome to come to school in an age-appropriate Halloween costume on October 31. However, please do not bring any costume parts or props that resemble any type of weapon.  Thank you for your cooperation on this matter.

Students may bring individually-wrapped treats to share with their classmates for the Halloween celebration.  Please be sure that there are enough treats for everyone in your child’s class!

To play games and purchase snacks at the Halloween celebration, students have pre-purchased tickets (2 tickets for $1.00).  If your child pre-purchased tickets, s/he will receive them on Halloween.

Please contact the office with any questions!

ALL SAINTS DAY MASS

This Friday, November 1, we will attend school Mass at 9:30 AM in observance of the Feast of All Saints.  Families are welcome to join us in this Eucharistic celebration.

** Since we are attending Mass on Friday, November 1, all students should be in complete uniform–no gray sweats or free dress passes on that day.

For additional Mass times for the Feast of All Saints and the Feast of All Souls, visit https://www.missionparishes.com/

SCHOOL ACCREDITATION PARENT SURVEY

SCHOOL UNIFORMS

We live our core value to UNITE as students wear their school uniform with pride.  Please remember that the complete daily uniform includes the plain white polo shirt, navy slacks or uniform skirt/jumper, green uniform sweatshirt, black or white socks, and solid black or solid white sneakers (tennis shoes).

On Fridays (unless there is a church service), students may wear the optional gray Aztecs hoodie, Aztecs sweatpants, and Aztecs T-shirt.

** To purchase the gray Aztecs sweats, obtain an order form in the school office.

For more details on the school uniform, refer to the Uniform section of the Parent-Student Handbook that was distributed on the first day of school, which is also available on the school website: http://www.stpeterssf.org/parents-students

Students who are out of uniform will receive a “Uniform Notice” to be signed by a parent or guardian, as a reminder about the uniform policy, and to help us unite as a school community!
