QUE PASA 11/29/23 (ENGLISH)

Dear Parents,

December is just around the corner!  Even though we’re near the end of the year, we find ourselves just at the beginning of a Church season—ADVENT.  Advent is a time of preparation for Jesus’ birth.

The teachers and I will be teaching the students about Advent, and how our preparations could include special acts—such as saying extra prayers, reading the bible, giving to the school’s weekly Missions collection, or doing extra good deeds—because doing those special acts will make more room in our hearts for Jesus.  Some classes are following an Advent calendar or constructing Advent wreaths, yet some classes might also be planning special projects to help those in need.  Students that have received the sacrament of Reconciliation will also have the opportunity to receive Reconciliation with their class during December. Whatever your child and your family do during Advent, remember that Jesus is the reason for the season.  The children have heard this at school, but continue this lesson at home.  Let’s all be examples of open hearts and open minds, and know that we wouldn’t be celebrating if it wasn’t for our savior, Jesus Christ.

Let us offer this prayer  as we begin this season of Advent:

Jesus,

You are light even in the darkest places.  Help us to trust in you when we are lost or lonely.  Shine hope and love into our hearts.

AMEN.

–Mrs. Sandra Jimenez

SCHOOL FOODIES

We'd like to remind you about our exceptional school lunch program School Foodies!

They can help ease the burden of grocery shopping and lunch preparation during this busy Holiday season. If your student has not tried SchoolFoodies, we invite you to register them at www.SchoolFoodies.com, using registration code: SF-SPS

If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to them at 510.556.8900 or contact@schoolfoodies.com. They can help make the holidays easier, one meal at a time.  You may also contact our school office with any questions.

SCHOOL UNIFORMS

We live our core value to UNITE as students wear their school uniform with pride.  Please remember that the complete daily uniform includes the plain white polo shirt, navy slacks or uniform skirt/jumper, green uniform sweatshirt, black or white socks, and solid black or solid white sneakers (tennis shoes).

On Fridays (unless there is a church service), students may wear the optional gray Aztecs hoodie, Aztecs sweatpants, and Aztecs T-shirt.

** To purchase the gray Aztecs sweats, obtain an order form in the school office.

For more details on the school uniform, refer to the Uniform section of the Parent-Student Handbook that was distributed on the first day of school, which is also available on the school website: http://www.stpeterssf.org/parents-students

Students who are out of uniform will receive a “Uniform Notice” to be signed by a parent or guardian, as a reminder about the uniform policy, and to help us unite as a school community.
