QUE PASA 9/14/2022 (ENGLISH)

Dear Parents,

As we begin to prepare for The Feast of Our Lady of Mercy coming up next week, we offer this prayer of Catherine McAuley, who founded the Sisters of Mercy:

My God, I am yours for time and eternity.Teach me to cast myself entirely into the arms of your loving Providence with a lively, unlimited confidence in your compassionate, tender pity. Grant, O most merciful Redeemer, that whatever you ordain or permit may be acceptable to me.Take from my heart all painful anxiety;let nothing sadden me but sin, nothing delight me but the hope of coming to the possession of You my God and my all, in your everlasting kingdom. Amen.

May we continue to look towards the Sisters of Mercy as examples of love, peace, and social justice, especially as we still witness signs of violence and inhumane treatment of others throughout the world.  Let us always remember that our school, founded by the Sisters of Mercy, is a place where we can model how to live with active kindness and compassion with open hearts and open minds!

DIMES FROM HEAVEN

Next week, from September 19-23, our Student Council is sponsoring a fundraiser and class competition—“Dimes from Heaven!”  Though the title says “dimes,” all monetary denominations will be accepted.  The classes that raise the highest amount by the end of next week (in grade categories K-2, 3-5, and 6-8) will win a class prize.  Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit our local SPCA and future Student Council school events.

Thank you, Student Council officers and Class Representatives, for organizing our first fundraiser of this school year!

BAPTISM

If your child is not yet baptized and you would like him/her to receive the sacrament of Baptism, you may contact the St. Peter’s Parish Rectory at 415-282-1652.  Before receiving any other sacraments (such as Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation), your child must first be Baptized.  If you have any questions or would like to discuss the process before beginning this sacramental process, please feel free to contact the school office.

GRAY AZTECS SWEATS

Our gray Aztecs sweats are now for sale!  These sweats are OPTIONAL to wear on Fridays.  Parents and other family members may also purchase these sweats, and would be great to wear to support our St. Peter’s teams at their games!

To order the sweats, you may pick up an order form at the school office, or call the office so that we can send an order form home with your child.  The prices are listed below:

Hoodie - $30

Sweatpants - $25

T-shirt - $10

* Supplies are limited.  Unfortunately, we have no youth medium sweatpants at this time!  Once they become available, an announcement will be made.

SCHOOL UNIFORMS

We live our core value to UNITE as students wear their school uniform with pride.  Please remember that the complete daily uniform includes the plain white polo shirt, navy khaki pants or uniform skirt/jumper, green uniform sweatshirt, black or white socks, and solid black or solid white sneakers (tennis shoes).

On FRIDAYS (unless there is a church service), students may wear the optional gray Aztecs hoodie, Aztecs sweatpants, and Aztecs T-shirt, with the usual uniform shoes.  (If your child does not have an Aztecs T-shirt, he/she should wear the uniform white polo with the sweats.)

For more details on the school uniform, refer to the Uniform section of the Parent-Student Handbook that was distributed on the first day of school, which is also available on the school website: http://www.stpeterssf.org/parents-students

Students who are out of uniform will receive a “Uniform Notice” to be signed by a parent or guardian, as a reminder about the uniform policy, and to help us unite as a school community!

SCHOOL MASS

Thank you to those who joined us in church during our first school Mass yesterday.  Moving forward, we will continue to attend Mass weekly on Tuesdays at 8:15 AM.  An announcement will be made on Class Dojo if Mass will be on a different day during a particular week.

Parents and other family members are welcome to join us during our school Masses.  You may find a seat in an empty pew behind the students.  We look forward to celebrating the Eucharist as a school community!

INFECTION MITIGATION PLAN
