QUE PASA 3/11/2020 (ENGLISH)

Dear Parents,

With all the different responsibilities we have as parents, it is very easy for us to feel overwhelmed and tired. This week has been especially full—with our school accreditation visit, our children’s report cards going home, and the worries about the Coronavirus.  Yet let’s not forget how Jesus can be a source of strength and a loving comfort to us, and how we can follow his example to spread that love and be a positive example for our children.

How true are Jesus’ words, which invite those who are tired and weary to come to Him to find rest! His arms outstretched on the cross show that no one is excluded from his love and his mercy, not even the greatest sinner: no one!

-Pope Francis

Heavenly Father, your son’s death on the cross stands as a testament to your endless love and care for all of us. No one who seeks you out is excluded from your love, no matter what we have done. No one is cut off from your mercy, no matter how great our suffering. Give me the courage, Lord, to always look to Christ crucified as the promise of mercy for me. In this Lenten season, give me the confidence to trust that your love for me will never die. AMEN.

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Letters were sent home and a “School Story” was posted on Class Dojo regarding the closure of all schools in the Archdiocese, from March 12 through March 25.  No one in our school community has tested positive for COVID-19 (Coronavirus), but we are following the direction of the Superintendent of Catholic Schools.

The plan is for schools to re-open on Thursday, March 26.  Until then, teachers will be sending home schoolwork beginning today, and then sharing further assignments and directions via Class Dojo.  All students are taking their textbooks home, and these textbooks must be returned when we all return to school.  The expectation is that children continue their work and studies daily, so it is VERY IMPORTANT that parents check Class Dojo each school day. There will be due dates (set by the teachers) during the 2-week school closure when students/parents will need to submit proof of completed work.

Middle school students should also check their school emails daily to see updates from their subject-area teachers regarding assignments.

**Since Friday, March 12 was already scheduled as a student holiday to accommodate the faculty retreat, no assignments will be assigned for that day.

CHROMEBOOK / TABLET LOANS

Since there will be online assignments for students (such as on ST Math, Lexia, and Mathletics) during the school closure, students will need access to the internet and a tablet, laptop, or desktop computer.

If your family does not have a device at home, you may borrow a device from school.  (One device per family.)  To borrow a device, please stop by the school office today (Wednesday, March 11) by 5:30 PM.  Tomorrow, the school office ONLY will be open (Thursday, March 12) from 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM.  Parents must be present to pick up the device for their children, and must sign a Device Loan Agreement before taking the device home.  Devices will NOT be released to students without a parent present.

The following events have been cancelled:
